Do you ever feel like
you have been forgotten or left out of God’s plans? Maybe it seems like God
didn’t remember what He said He would do. You could be thinking that you must
have made too many mistakes in your life for God to keep His end of the bargain…after
all, you wouldn’t really expect anyone else to hold up with everything you have
done (or haven’t done). Or maybe some of the childhood church memories glow as
fond “Bible stories”, but fail to equate to real life as an adult.
The truth is, if you
have ever thought or experienced any of the above, you are not alone. You may
feel alone or forgotten, but you are not. In fact, one of the most isolating
things in faith is to feel as though you have been forgotten or abandoned to
live life in solitude. It seems that everyone around you is merrily living out
what they believe, so you must be the outcast if you have doubts or if you
wonder if God remembers that you exist!
However, that’s not
even close to the case. That is why I want you to join us for a sixteen week
journey through the writings of the Prophet Zechariah. This man’s name
literally means “God remembers”. If there were ever a people in the Bible that
needed that message it was the Israelites 500 years before Jesus was born. I
believe that if there were ever a people since Christ that needed this
reminder, it is the church in America 2000 years later!
I know that Old
Testament prophecy might not be your first choice in daily devotional Bible
reading. At times, it can be absolutely depressing to digest. Nevertheless,
Zechariah arrests our hearts and minds with the subtle reminder that God has a
plan for His people that is not bound by our homes, cities, or even lifespans.
He offers us so much more than we can fathom and through this prophet, He draws
us into His heart and whispers “I love you. I have not forgotten you. I am
going to make you so much more than you could ever imagine. And, on top of all
of that, I am coming back for you!”
You are not forgotten.
You are loved. Join us as we explore Zechariah together and see that God
Remembers His People.
In Christ Alone

Hey! I want to hear from you. Let's bridge dialogue as followers of Christ and not followers of the world. I am eager to see how we can grow together!
